People get temporary tattoos for many different reasons; some may want to try on a tattoo before they get it permanently on their body, some may just want one for a special occasion, no matter what the reason, they are fun and cost little money to do yourself. There are many different methods for making your D.I.Y. temporary tattoo, from henna, sharpie markers, eyeliner, and gel pens. You will also need various different objects depending on the method that you choose to use. Tracing or parchment paper is needed if you want to trace a tattoo from online and then apply to the skin. You will not need this if you decide to free hand directly onto your skin.
If you decide to freehand, it’s recommended that you use a regular ink pen to start, this way it can be erased if you make any mistakes. Once you have the finished design on your skin, it needs to dry for about five minutes. Once its dry apply a top layer of baby powder and this will seal it in. It will last for 3-5 days. If you choose to trace a design you will need to start by tracing the design on tracing paper or parchment paper with a pencil. After you have finished, fill it in with a dark colored gel pen and then apply to your skin like you would with a store bought temporary tattoo.
There are endless amounts of designs for temporary tattoos, have fun with your D.I.Y. temporary tattoo project!
