Most tattoos are carefully planned out, performed in a safe environment, and have artistic value. But, there is a different kind of tattoo in the world. A tattoo so rare and chaotic they are known as ‘traumatic’ tattoos.
These tattoos are not planned, not safe, and probably not very pleasing to the eye, but they might be the most hardcore tattoos around. Here are 3 different ways life might hand you a tattoo whether you like it or not.
1) Coal Tattoos
Coal miners are so tough you would assume they have tattoos all day; and they do, but not because they actually want tattoos. Coal mining is a dangerous and dirty job, and sometimes (all of the time), miners get hurt while mining for coal, and coal dust would inadvertently get in their open wounds.
That, or coal miners just use coal as band-aids. (Source Steve Mccurry)
As coal dust settles into the wound, miners would take preventive measures to clean the wound. Oh wait never mind, they just kept on mining for coal and ignored it. As a result, coal would get stuck the layers of skin as the wound healed, and boom – a black wound-shaped tattoo.
2) Gunpowder Tattoo
If you lived back in the day when people still had to individually load gunpowder into their gun; you had the chance to get a wicked gunpowder tattoo when you got shot at close range. However, there is one downside to getting this tattoo – getting shot with a gun usually sucks.
Unless you got shot by this girl. That would be ok.
Gunpowder is black as night, and since guns are pretty decent at creating open wounds, the gunpowder would get lodged in the wound at close range. Then, you will have a real bullet hole tattoo, which is pretty hardcore.
3) Asphalt Tattoo
You probably get the idea now. You’re minding your own business, working at a paving company, when all of a sudden a truckload of asphalt gets dumped on your face. The hot asphalt will melt right through your skin, and if you somehow manage to not die, you will be the proud owner of a haphazard, mangled black face tattoo.
Like this, except better looking.
